School Readiness goals help prepare children for success
February 19, 2013
JACKSON, Ga -- McIntosh Trail has established School Readiness Goals in an effort to improve the school readiness of children participating in its programs in accordance with the requirements of the Head Start School Readiness Act.
These goals reflect the ages of the children, birth to five and align with the Head Start Early Learning Framework, Georgia's Early Learning Standards, and the requirements and expectations of the local public school systems within the seven county service area. Parents were very active in the establishment of the goals.
The program aggregates and analyzes the child-level assessment data at least three times a year. Then using that data with other program data determines the progress toward its goals. The parents and community are informed of the results and how it relates to continuous improvement in curriculum, instruction, professional development, program design, and other program decisions.
